The Lotos Foundation is committed to encouraging gifted students in the fine and performing arts and sciences in New York City through Louis Padovano Grants to in-school and after-school programs across the city’s diverse populations and neighborhoods. The Grants are named for the Foundation's founder. The Foundation also honors young creative artists at the outset of their careers across a broad spectrum of the arts with a monetary Lotos Foundation Prize.
The Foundation’s accomplishments are impressive, with awards totaling over $1 million, which includes 170 Grants for after-school programs serving gifted students and 100 monetary Prizes to talented individuals in the creative arts and sciences. Many of these awards promote diversity and those most in need of support. Given the pressures on school budgets and the arts community, the Foundation’s Grants and Prizes are especially valued today.
